Neon advertising in Australia was booming through the 1900s.  Some of the most iconic signs were erected as early as the 1930s, including “Little Audrey” as Skipping Girl Vinegar in Abbotsford, Victoria.  NPA Lighting has been involved in the restoration and ongoing maintenance of many of these signs, through the supply and manufacture of control gear and components; helping to bring the iconic Skipping Girl Vinegar, Hard Rock Cafe and Pink Poodle neon signs back to life.  Today, the Pink Poodle is a listed Queensland Heritage Icon, and all of these signs hold rich social, cultural and historical significance to the regions that they are in.  These classic signs are now a representation of the former glory of neon advertising in Australia and perhaps, a reminder of how resilient, timeless and stunning neon can be.
